There’s no better place to be than the Happiest Place on Earth. That’s a definitive fact and I can prove it.

This past week and a half I was lucky enough to venture down to Central Florida with my mom and sister for a girls’ getaway to Walt Disney World, which happens to be my favorite place in this big wide world that we live in. While my father and brother stayed home due to athletic commitments, us girls braved the steamy July heat, riding rollercoasters and sampling foods around the parks until our hearts were content.

We went in without a plan, lounging around in the mornings at Kidani Village‘s (part of the Animal Kingdom Lodge) gorgeous pool and bar before heading out to which ever park we had FastPasses for that day. For those of you who aren’t dedicated Disney buffs like myself, FastPasses are tickets you can book online with you park admissions that allow you to basically cut line for a designated ride (10/10 recommend).

Now I truly love each and everyone of WDW’s four uniquely themed parks, but EPCOT holds a special place in my heart. Being able to “visit” eleven different countries in a day is an experience like no other. Each country around EPCOT’s World Showcase is staffed by people of that nationality who always have to most amazing things to say about where they come from and the experiences and people they’ve met throughout their life.

While every part of my vacation was so enjoyable, dinner at EPCOT Morocco’s Spice Road Table was an evening I truly will never forget. My mom had planned this dinner for the three of us due to my love of African food and spices, but it wasn’t just the amazing hummus fries and lamb sliders that put the evening as a such a highlight. The entire staff, from the bus boys, to the host, to our incredible waiter, Madhi, were so incredibly warm and welcoming that they had the entire restaurant talking and laughing with each other. Disney’s service is always amazing but sometimes you meet people with an extra sparkle and it’s incredible.

Walt Disney World will always feel like home to me and while I’m not sure when I’ll be able to return, this trip will always hold a special place in my heart.

xo,

Megan (Check out my VSCO for even more photos from my trip!)

P.S. Disney College Program: look out for my application because that is an opportunity and experience I truly would be honored to be a part of! 🙂
